OBJECTIVE:

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to

1. Realize and understand IPRs and the measures of protection mentioned in important international documents;

2. Get familiar with the main protection measures both in developed and developing countries;

3. Understand and grasp the major principles, main measures and the influence of TRIPs Agreement of WTO.

4. Exchange the knowledge and experience in IPRs protection, including recent developments and main problems of Customs border protection.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

1. Middle or high rank officers of Customs who are responsible for IPRs (Customs border) protection or relevant training from Asia Pacific countries

 or Customs regions;

2. Preferably a basic university degree with at least 5 years of working experience in Customs matters and proficient in English.

3. The participants should be under 45 and in good health.

REQUIREMENTS ON COMMUNICATION MATERIAL

1. Content

Participants are required to prepare a case study relevant to training topic so that knowledge and experience could be exchanged with other participants.

2. Instruction on print

  and delivery

The printed materials ( case study) should be sent to our course coordinator two weeks before class via post or fax (086-021-58436195)and its electronic files should be sent to train_scc@yahoo.com.cn at the same time, Font Arial 12in a Windows compatible programme.

3. Presentation

Participants are required to make a 15-minute class presentation of the prepared materials and be to ready for a “Q & A” session.
